THE weekend saw seven revellers arrested and more than 20 sent away from the town centre in a busy pre-Christmas weekend for police.
Neighbourhood police said so far this week night-time economy operations saw two arrests for common assault and five for public order offences, as well as six fixed penalty fines for disorder.
A total of 22 people were dispersed from the town centre and Old Town, while there was also a number of people cautioned for possession of controlled drugs, but police said the majority of the thousands of clubbers were well behaved.
Night-time economy beat manager PC Mike Diffin said: “I am pleased that most of the people out over the weekend before Christmas have been very friendly and enjoying their night out in Swindon.”
