FOR well over a decade the Swindon Arts Centre has proudly displayed a piece of work by one of Swindon’s most successful artists, Ken White.
As Ken, pictured, is pulling his collection together it means the space previously occupied by this piece has now become available and the centre is giving a local artist the rare opportunity to have their own piece of artwork on permanent display at the Swindon Arts Centre.
The winning piece will be based on the theme ‘applause’ and take pride of place in the main entrance.
The judging panel consists of Jaime Bullock, who is the curator of the recently-launched Landing Arts Gallery within the Swindon Arts Centre, Arts Centre House manager Darren Edwards and highly-respected local artist Gordon Dickinson.
The closing date for the competition is February 2. All work must be submitted on that day between 10am and 2.30pm to the Swindon Arts Centre.
The winning piece will be unveiled on Tuesday, February 12.
