Social halls ready for busy year

THERE are several events taking place at Savernake Street Social Halls in January and February, organised by the group hoping to take over community management of the halls from Swindon Council.
The first is a car boot and table top sale on January 20, from 9am-noon. Spaces are available for pitches and tables at an introductory rate of £3 per pitch. To book a pitch or space for a table (bring your own table if possible) email eastcottcommunity @yahoo.co.uk or call 07811649355.
Meanwhile a public meeting will be held on February 18 at 7.30pm at the main hall, at which the constitution for Eastcott Community Association will be formally adopted and post-holders elected.
This will form the committee that will, as one of its roles, manage the running of the halls and anyone living in Eastcott and the surrounding area along with all hall users are invited to attend.
