CHILDREN have been getting to grips with the rules of Water Polo after a visit from an Olympic star.
Great Britain Water Polo captain Craig Figes visited Ridgeway School in Wroughton as part of the Be the Best You Can Be campaign.
The children were treated to a talk by the Olympian, who represented his country for the first time at an Olympic Games, in London last summer. Despite the team losing every game, the event helped to put the sport in the spotlight and the players are now hoping to build on that by inspiring young people to take up the sport.
As part of the Olympic legacy aimed to inspire a generation, Craig spoke to the pupils about the rules of the sport and what it takes to be an Olympic athlete.
The 34-year-old, of Bristol, was at home in the classroom because he was a geography teacher at Manchester Grammar School before quitting to play water polo professionally in the run-up to the Games.
This will be part of a series of events run by the school aimed at inspiring them to be the best they can be.
