After a recent spike in theft from motor vehicle offences, the West Swindon Police Team have been running Operation Door for a week.
The team has been out in plain clothes working nights on foot and on bikes. They searched 76 people, found four with illegal drugs and one driving a motor vehicle without consent and no licence or insurance. They also identified one suspect for a dwelling burglary who has since been arrested and is on police bail.
They found 61 insecure vehicles during that week and decided to wake the owners up to prevent them becoming victims of crime. They also found handbags, car stereos, sat navs and laptops left in cars.
