Go on an artistic journey in Swindon
AFTER the success of their recent exhibition at the Big Screen in Wharf Green and Central Library, Create Studios have announced its continued run of A Portrait of Swindon as it continues its journey around the town.
A Portrait of Swindon; is a digital installation made by Create Studios on behalf of Swindon Council, using photography and film to celebrate the people and place of Swindon and The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Working with social engagement artist Jill Carter and filmmaker Gurchetan Singh, Create have woven a revealing portrait of Swindon community, culture, commerce and landscapes.
More than 600 people and 60 venues participated.
The exhibition follows the journey of the golden couch around the town, playfully revealing the individuality of people along the way. This series of spontaneous interventions took place over 10 days at locations meaningful to the participants.
A Portrait Of Swindon will be at Swindon Designer Outlet from February 11 until 24 and North Swindon Library from February 26 to March 28.
