Charlie-Anne wows London's O2 arena at Open Mic UK Live and Unsigned final

TALENTED teen Charlie-Anne Bradfield played to thousands at the O2 Arena after making it to the final of the Open Mic UK Live and Unsigned event.

The Dorcan Academy pupil, who turned 14 last month, made it through to the grand final showcase after performing in the area final in Reading in December.

The singer songwriter, of Nythe, followed in the footsteps of world-famous superstars when she took to the stage at the London venue and finished fifth in the under-16s category and 13th overall.

Her family and friends travelled to London, including her mum Sue who said she was proud of her daughter for doing her own thing, and saw her perform Taylor Swift’s Love Song and the self-penned Army Bird.

Charlie-Ann previously performed at the Wharf Green Olympic Opening Ceremony, Swindon Pride and The Big Arts Day earlier this year but said she was not daunted by performing on such a big stage.

She said: “I wasn’t really nervous on the way down but when I saw the O2 I started getting butterflies – in an excited way. My confidence has definitely grown now and hopefully I can go on to do other things.”
