Grants available for community groups
6:30pm Monday 21st January 2013 in News
THE Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon have small grants of up to £750 available for voluntary and community groups who help disadvantaged people.
If a small grant of up to £750 would help your group, you can apply for assistance to get started with initial costs including room hire and publicity, improvements such as new equipment and updating publicity materials, and development including attending training or a conference and travel costs.
Your group must be based in and serving Swindon and/or Wiltshire, a voluntary or community organisation with some form of committee, made up of or helping people who are disadvantaged in some way, such as older people, disabled people, people living in an area of deprivation, or people from minority communities.
You must be able to show that your last year’s income was less than £10,000 (or what you expect it to be if you are just getting going), and that you do not have more than 12 months running costs available.
Your group will need a bank account set up in the name of the group, a constitution or set of rules, Equal Opportunities Policy, Child Protection/-Vulnerable Persons Policy (if your group works with children or vulnerable people).
For more information, visit www.wscf.org.uk and complete the Expression of Interest Form or contact Community Foundation for Wiltshire and Swindon on 01380 729284.
