Getting to root of family trees
A TALK on how people can use the internet to delve into their family history will be held at the Central Library on Monday.
Clare Skinner, senior archivist at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre in Chippenham, will be at the Swindon Borough Council-run library at 1pm to talk about how to start researching family trees.
Clare will concentrate on the general ‘dos and don’ts’ of online research, including how to avoid the common pitfalls while using the internet for family history research and how to ensure that the information researched online is genuine.
Tickets for the talk are £1.50 for library members and £2.50 for non-members and are available from the library.
For more information contact Central Library on 01793 463238 or email localstudies@swindon.gov.uk
