Police recruitment website crashes due to demand Police recruitment website crashes due to demand

DEMAND for police constable roles at Wiltshire Police saw the sheer number of applicants crash the force’s website upon launch today.

The main website has a holding page while they are experiencing high volumes of traffic and the site crashed for a few minutes at 4pm when the job application went live.

A spokesman for the force said: “The Wiltshire Police website has temporarily had a holding page placed on it due to the high level of traffic we have been receiving today.

“We will work to resume normal service of the website as soon as possible. The holding page contains the pre-assessment tool link.”

Sadly the expectations for entry will mean less street able police. It seems the Constabulary are using standard HR recruiting processes with someone who has little knowledge of policing filtering the entries.

I know most large companies use such systems but how many good people are lost because they don't have the experiences to complete the competency tests, and will be simply filtered out.
