THE daughters of a young woman who is battling terminal cancer are hoping to help their mum in her fight when they take to the stage this week.

Hayleigh and Katie Macdivitt, of Haydon End, will be starring alongside dozens of performers from Julie Scott’s Academy of Performing Arts for a fundraiser in honour of their mum, Natasha, at the De Vere Village on Friday.

Natasha, 27, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2011 and has now been told the disease has spread to her lungs and bones – giving her less than a year to live.

She hopes to use some of the money donated to pay for an alternative treatment, which involves high-dose vitamin C therapy, which could help her live longer.

Natasha’s father, Nigel Lelliott, of Nythe, said: “We are all looking forward to watching the show.

“Natasha was just so elated when she found out about the fundraiser.

“She said she couldn’t believe that people are donating their time to do it.

“Hayleigh and Katie enjoy doing their dancing and she likes seeing them happy.”

Natasha is at the centre of a fundraising campaign being run by her family and friends in a bid to pay for alternative treatment not available on the NHS.

The treatment, which costs £80 a session, is based on an intravenous infusion of a pharmacological dose of vitamin C, which contains the equivalent of 500 oranges in each dose.

The family have received more than £5,000 in donations so far and are using some of the money to give the children happy memories of spending time with their mother.

Natasha and her husband Danny, 30, and children Joshua, 10, Hayleigh, eight, and Katie, four, travelled to Disneyland Paris at the weekend. Nigel said they had a fantastic time.

The fundraiser on Friday, which starts at 8pm, will include dance, cabaret and performances from the Britannia Majorettes and local band The Phoenex.

Julie Scott, the owner of Julie Scott’s Academy of Performing Arts, said: “One of my teachers asked if we could do something for Natasha when we found out what was happening.

“Fingers crossed we can help the family and help Natasha to pay for some alternative treatment.

“You never know, there may be a miracle cure out there.”

Raffle prizes can still be donated for the fundraiser.
