Victim of stabbing in Park South fights for life

A MAN is fighting for his life after being stabbed twice on Sunday morning.
Police were called to a house in Leighton Avenue, Park South, at 12.17am to a report of a stabbing. They found a 35-year-old male with two puncture wounds to his body.
The man remains in hospital in a serious condition and officers promptly arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police were seen outside the address yesterday as well as a crime scene investigation van.
A resident who wished to remain anonymous said: “I didn’t see or hear anything until this morning when I went to walk the dog and saw the police there.
“I wasn’t sure what had happened and I am quite shocked to hear that it was a stabbing, it’s not nice to hear.
“I hope the police move quickly in finding the person responsible and the guy is doing well in hospital.”
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who may have any information relevant to this investigation to contact Det Sgt Tom Ellerby from Swindon CID at Gablecross Police Station.
