Man, 23, charged in connection with stabbing in Park South
POLICE have charged a 23-year-old man arrested in connection with a stabbing in Park South this weekend.
Craig Johnathan Williams, 23, of Leighton Avenue, Swindon, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent following the incident in Leighton Avenue at 12.17am on Sunday.
He was remanded in custody and appeared at North West Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court, in Chippenham, yesterday afternoon.
He is due to appear at Swindon Crown Court on February 15.
The 35-year-old victim, named locally as Neil Carter, suffered two stab wounds to the body and remains at Great Western Hospital in a stable condition with his family by his bedside.
Police were initially called to reports of a stabbing and found the man with two puncture wounds, before arresting a 23-year-old a short time later.
They are still appealing for witnesses.
