Josh Kumra prepares to get intimate with his fans

LOCAL singing sensation Josh Kumra could be singing live in your living room this month.

The 21-year-old is embarking on a unique tour where he will be performing at the homes of seven fans all in the space of a week.

Josh will be heading out around the UK from Monday, February 11 to test out some of his new songs from his forthcoming debut album, which he is set to release in April.

Josh is asking people to email in with their names, where they live and how many people they are expecting for the gig before picking the seven lucky fans who will be treated to a gig from the comfort of their own living room.

The former Headlands School pupil is urging Swindon fans to get in touch as he would love a return to his hometown for one of the intimate gigs.

He said: “The tour is called Waiting For Josh, which is a bit cheesy but I am really looking forward to it.

“It has already had a really good response with between 50 and 100 people applying already.

“The concept is something I have always wanted to do, my friend Kimberley Anne told me she did it and I can’t wait.

“I hope Swindon will be on the list of places I will be visiting for this tour, it would be great to come home and I have already seen a couple of people write in already, so I want as many Swindon entries as possible.

“It doesn’t matter if only four or five people are in the room, the thing is the conversation it will create and hopefully it will create a buzz.

“The most daunting part is when you perform at a normal gig you know where you are performing and what to expect but here you don’t know whose house you are going to.

“I’m really excited about this, it is the first time I have been out with my material for the album and it will be good to get the feedback. You get much better feedback from a handful of people than perhaps supporting someone on tour.”

Josh is teaming up with another up and coming star, Lianne La Havas, at the end of February for a tour which will also see him headline two dates.

He has said that he is looking forward to the launch of his album, which is expected to be on April 18.

He said: “Things are going really well at the moment. I released my second single Waiting For You which didn’t have a big impact but it got my face on the TV, which is good.”
