DANCING, face painting and delicious food were among the attractions at a recent event in Broadgreen which aimed to build understanding of different cultures.

The Broadgreen Organisation for Neighbourhood Development held the event, whose theme was positive neighbours, positive neighbourhood, at Broadgreen Community Centre.

Nazma Bibi Ramruttun, chairman of the BOND, said the organisation worked toward community cohesion.

She said: “The event was the best one we have had. We had more the 100 people attend and at one point I thought we were going above the capacity of the hall.

“Our programme was full of entertainments. This year we had new performers as well included, the Nepalese dancers, children from the Tamil Association, Swindon Elvis and we also there was face painting for the children.

“The food was super and our thanks to Rokib Ali from Biplop who donated the food.”

She said the group was also grateful for the donations received from Nuffield Health and all those who donated kindly for the raffles.

BOND meetings take place at the Broadgreen Community Centre on the second Monday of the month.
