Police issue ice warning
POLICE have issued a warning to motorists after reports of several incidents in which cars have slipped on black ice this morning.
Temperatures dipped overnight and black ice has reportedly formed on rural roads around the town and surrounding areas, including at Highworth, Westleaze and also Royal Wootton Bassett.
Four incidents have taken place between 6am and 8am this morning, including a car which crashed into a wall at Friars Farm, in Sevenhampton, causing the driver minor injuries.
A burst water main on the B4042 at Royal Wootton Bassett has led to icy patcehs on the road, while Swindon Council gritters have been deployed to Mill Lane, in Westleaze, following reports of sheet ice so drivers are advised to take caution.
