Poised to play Youngsters ready to take on police
TEENAGERS will be taking on a team of PCSOs in a football match in Dorcan tonight.
The twilight football event has been organised by Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust and will see youngsters from Oakfield Youth First Centre, in Walcot, take on the officers.
In this highly anticipated football match, each group was sent away to assemble a team of eight players in order to compete in a 7v7 match, which will kick off at 7.30pm.
Twilight football aims to reduces anti social behaviour in the town.
Lindsey Colsell, Youth Worker at Youth First Centre, said: “Everyone is looking forward to the match, it will be a good experience for the young people at the centre.
“It’s great that we can make the match a widespread event too, with the football match, the advertising and the support that it is all attracting; not to mention it taking place at a key time where the youth of Walcot and surrounding areas can potentially be on the streets.
“A big thank you to Dave for organising the event, and we hope for a successful evening – and a win for our boys.”
