YOUTHS broke into an unoccupied house for married servicemen or women at RAF Lyneham and caused £1,000 in damage.

The group of teenagers broke into a house on the married quarters in Lyneham on Wednesday night and Ministry Of Defence officers discovered beer bottles littering the inside, as well as doors knocked off hinges and light fittings broken in the house.

Police are appealing for information and asked anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area, opposite the camp on Calne Road, PCSO Andy Singfield said: “Following a report of youths being seen in an empty property on the married quarters in Lyneham our colleagues on CSI, are taking DNA samples, fingerprints and footwear impressions to help us try and identify the offenders.

“After speaking with the housing management team they think that the damage caused could be more than £1,000.
