GRADUATES and people looking for work have been given the opportunity to brush up on their interview skills and come up with a career plan.

Job seekers from all kinds of backgrounds signed up to the free five-day Graduate Ready Steady Job course, as part of Love Work Skills Month at New College.

Tom Mills, who signed up for the course, said: “I’ve learnt a lot about CV and interview techniques, also taking part in mock interviews.

“I found career planning really useful and my confidence has been given a boost.

“I think the college has been very supportive and I feel more prepared for future job interviews.”

Throughout February, New College is running Love Work Skills Month with employability courses also running for 16-18 year olds and for people over the age of 19.

People are also being reminded about the New College Job Club, which offers one to one help with writing CVs, finding job vacancies, reviewing job search sites, completing job applications and interviewing skills.

Love Work Skills Month isn’t just for people who are unemployed – people who are already in work can also benefit and employers can also take part.
