A nine-year-old boy who suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision with a Thamesdown Transport bus is in a stable condition in hospital.

The accident happened at 3.30pm on Friday in Westfield Way, near the Orbital Shopping Centre.

Police and paramedics were first on the scene before the air ambulance turned up to attend to the youngster. A second air ambulance, carrying a doctor from Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital, landed at 4.20pm and the boy was flown to Frenchay with a serious head injury.
