POLICE arrested two men and a woman after Class A drugs and a large amount of cash were found on Monday at St Ives Court, a supported housing scheme for households who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.

PC Frank Key, the community beat manager for Covingham and Nythe, said: “As a neighbourhood police team we have already set up a permanent regular surgery within St Ives Court to provide more of a presence to deter problems and give residents an outlet to prevent issues building up.

“We are also looking in the near future to set up regular inspection rounds with the manager to again make residents aware that setting up centres for drug dealing within this establishment will not be tolerated.

“Although there are issues at St Ives things are vastly improved on how they used to be due to the good partnership working from the St Ives staff and local police over the last few years.”

Police hold a public drop-in consultation for Nythe at the Messenger pub on the first Saturday of every month from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
