A MAN has been seriously injured in an incident at a town centre building site.

Police and ambulance crews received a call to the multi-storey car park which is currently being built behind the Magistrates Court at approximately 7.45am.

A 28-year-old man from Swindon was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol by ambulance after suffering what is believed to be serious injuries.

The Health and Safety Executive also attended the scene to investigate, and CSI attended but police have said the incident is not believed to be suspicious.

The site was closed all morning while police officers took photographs of the scene and gathered statements from witnesses. They will also check for any CCTV footage which may show what happened.

The site was deemed safe to reopen by the HSE at 12.52pm.
