Thief takes £1,000 after distracting woman
POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a thief distracted a woman and stole her bank card before withdrawing £1,000 in cash.
Officers have released a CCTV image of the man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place at HSBC, in Old Town, on the afternoon of November 13.
PC Julie Box, of Swindon response police, said: “This relates to a customer who was using her cash card in November at around 2.38pm.
“An unknown man, who was stood behind her, distracted the victim by saying that the cash point was not working before taking her bank card.
“The man then went and withdrew £1,000 from her account from another bank in the old town area of Swindon.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Box on 101 or email julie.box @wiltshire .pnn.police.uk or contact Crimestoppers, where information can be left anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
