Man charged following town centre assault

A MAN has been arrested and charged following an attack in the town centre.
The incident took place shortly after 2.15am on March 3 in Fleet Street, outside the Subway sandwich shop.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, was walking towards Bushwackers nightclub when he was punched to the back of the head by a man.
Yesterday, an 18-year-old local male was arrested in connection with this incident and was taken to Gablecross Police Station for questioning.
In the early hours of this morning, Ben Thomas Goddard, 18, of Chandos Close, Grange Park, was charged with causing Grievous Bodily Harm without Intent.
He was released on bail and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on March 27.
