Homes plan in Cloche Way tipped to get the nod

Homes plan tipped to get the nod Homes plan tipped to get the nod

CONTROVERSIAL plans to demolish two homes to make way for 11 new ones in Stratton have been tipped for approval by Swindon Council’s planning officers.

Two previous planning applications, to knock down 33 and 34 Cloche Way and build a small development extending onto a former orchard site, were rejected at recent planning appeals.

The main reason for the inspector dismissing the last appeal, in November 2012, was the visual impact of the proposed layout – but the inspector also concluded that in other matters the development was acceptable.

Now Swindon Council’s planning officers are recommending tomorrow’s planning committee to grant conditional permission for the latest application from Hannick Homes and Developments.

They claim the plan addresses the reasons for rejection in the last appeal, and complies with local and national planning policies, concluding: “The proposed development would not adversely impact on the character of the area or on the amenities of neigh-bouring residents.”
