Beaver Scouts raise money for WaterAid

A GROUP of youngsters has raised £320 for WaterAid.

The Beaver Scouts from the 18th Swindon Scout Group took part in a non-stop penalty kickathon in aid of the charity, which aims to bring clean water to the world’s poorest people.

After 45 minutes the children had scored well in excess of 100 penalties. They came up with the idea of a kickathon themselves, as well as the choice to raise funds for WaterAid.

Group leader Phil Clarke said: “The Beavers could not imagine what it would be like to not to have clean water. That’s why they decided to raise money for WaterAid. I’m really proud that they did so well.”

A special award went to Isaac, aged seven, who managed to raise £77 alone and Theo, aged six, who scored seven penalties on the night.
