Swindon company prepare to take Red Nose Day pledges
MORE than 120 volunteers from RCUK Shared Services Centre in North Star have given up their spare time and are busy preparing to handle up to 20,000 calls, as they capture public donations for Comic Relief tonight.
The phones will start ringing at the company’s office from 6.45pm and continue until the campaign comes to a close at midnight.
Comic Relief raises thousands of pounds for charities across the UK and people in the world’s poorest countries.
Fundraising efforts have been taking place by RCUK Shared Services Centre employees all this week through all sorts of fun based activities including baking sessions, fancy Dress and a flash mob sketch this morning by more than 50 employees in the main car park.
Jonathan Preece, Chief Executive, RCUK Shared Services Centre Ltd, said: “We are very grateful to all our colleagues who are prepared to give up so much of their own time to come and support this extremely worthwhile cause.”
Karen Cooke, of RCUK Shared Services Centre, said, “It promises to be very busy and a fantastic experience. Everyone is so excited and determined to get involved.
"The whole event is great fun, a great team building exercise and a great way to raise money for Comic Relief.”
