WORK to help young people in Wiltshire who are leaving care find employment has achieved national recognition.

Wiltshire Council has put a package of measures in place to provide support at key times.

The action plan has been recognised by the National Care Advisory Service, which awarded Wiltshire the Care2Work Quality Mark.

NCAS said Wiltshire Council had demonstrated its commitment to improving the employability of young people leaving care.

Council leader Jane Scott said: “Every young person deserves a positive start when they’re embarking on the next stage of their lives.”

A Care Leavers Work Experience group has already begun working with young people and managers to find opportunities within the council.
