Week of Action kicks off in Swindon

A WEEK of action aimed at bringing the community together to talk about local issues kicks has kicked off in Swindon.

The event, which is taking place across the north east locality, is a joint operation between the Community Safety Partnership, Swindon Council, parish councils, the Fire Service, the Health Service, Police, and voluntary organisations.

Residents are being invited to get involved with a number of events, community volunteering opportunities and enforcement operations, and already a large number have volunteered.

Activities taking place during the week include a litter pick in Greenbridge at 5.45pm today (meet at St Margaret’s centre, in Stratton), an activity day at Highworth Library tomorrow from 9am until 5pm, a health and wellbeing open day at Stratton Leisure Centre on Wednesday from 9am until 6.30pm, a clear up of Brewery Street car park on Thursday from 8am, a litter pick in Kingsdown from 9am until 12.30pm on Friday (meet at Kingsdown School) and Stanton Park open day on Saturday from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
