First class apprentices offer from Royal Mail
ROYAL Mail is encouraging people from across Swindon to apply for one of its apprenticeships.
The company has just launched a programme to recruit 41 apprentices through two nationwide schemes – Advanced Engineering and Fleet & Maintenance.
The programme combines formal learning with practical on-the-job-experience and is one of the highest ever annual intakes of apprentices by Royal Mail.
The programme builds on its contribution as an employer by supporting the Government’s campaign for vocational apprenticeships.
Royal Mail’s Fleet & Maintenance scheme is in its fifteenth year. Its Advanced Engineering scheme is in its third year. The schemes are designed to develop future business leaders and provide young people with the technical knowledge and skill they need to work in a professional capacity.
Peter Macdonald, Royal Mail’s director of talent and recruitment, said: “We recognise the value that investment in apprenticeships can bring. We are building on our contribution as an employer by supporting the Government’s campaign for vocational apprenticeships.
“Our apprentice schemes aim to get young people into the workplace and launch their careers.”

Any chance they can get an apprentice to come and pick up all the elastic bands that have been dumped on my front lawn by our friendly neighbourhood postman?
At least I know where they're being dropped now.
