Boy injured by bus released from hospital

THE nine-year-old boy who was injured in the accident involving a bus in Haydon Wick last month has been released from hospital.

The boy, who was airlifted to Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital after the crash in Westfield Way, is said to be doing well at home, and is now expected to make a full recovery.

The received serious injuries following the incident, which happened at 3.17pm on February 22. He was airlifted to Bristol and was put on a ventilator.

He was monitored on the High Dependency Ward and within days was showing signs of improvement having been taken off the ventilator and was speaking to his family and answering questions.

Nobody else was injured.
