A man who is accused of assaulting his partner on New Year’s Day is to face trial by judge and jury.
Mark Bailey pleaded not guilty to a charge of actual bodily harm when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.
The 40-year-old is said to have assaulted Kerry Whife on January 1 this year.
Bailey, of St Catherines Court, Devizes Road, Wroughton, applied to be released on bail in advance of a trial.
But Judge Euan Ambrose rejected the application and remanded him in custody to Monday, April 29.
