PLANS to save ‘hundreds of thousands of pounds’ by merging Somerset and Devon county council’s Trading Standards services will be voted on next month.
Both authorities are keen to progress the partnership, which it is hoped will create a ‘bigger and more agile’ service while achieving major savings in backroom costs.
The proposal will go before both councils for approval on April 20.
