POLICE are warning businesses to take extra care after a number of women were involved in a cash scam last week in the Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett area.
Officers believe there is a possibility that it could affect areas across the whole county.
Women have been attending post offices and businesses asking for £20 notes to be changed into £10 notes or the other way around. After some distraction of staff, they then ask for the £10/£20 notes back. When the females have left, staff have discovered money missing.
Police believe three women have been involved and possibly a fourth person, described as Eastern European, who was driving a dark Vectra type vehicle.
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
