HUNDREDS of friends and family of tragic A419 crash victim, Shaya Leigh, poured into Christ Church for her funeral this afternoon.
The church, in Old Town, was packed out as people gathered to remember the popular 18-year-old, who died in the early hours of May 18 after the grey Renault Clio she was driving left the A419.
The ceremony, which was conducted by The Reverend Simon Stevenette, started with Moby’s Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
The congregation heard a poem from Shaya’s 10-year-old cousin, Zara, before her father, Martin Leigh, paid tribute to her.
Feel The Love by Rudimental was also played, and the crowd sang Lord of the Dance before the commendation and blessing.
Not Giving In by Rudimental was played as the congregation left the church.
