SAINSBURYS in the town centre has announced that the Swindon Therapy Centre For MS will receive a year’s worth of fundraising.

The charity, which supports people with multiple sclerosis has been named as the store’s new Local Charity Partner.

The scheme, which began in 2009, has raised more than £5m to support local communities in the last four years.

The store, in the Brunel Centre, last year raised £1,800 for Swindon Children Without A Diagnosis.

The charity will be used the money to send families on day trips in the holidays, and to fund monthly activity sessions where the children and parents can socialise.

Customers have a huge say in this year’s announcement and voted in-store and online.

Laura Wilson, from the MS centre said: “We know the success that the Local Charity partnership has bought to many charities in Swindon so when we received the recent phone call to tell us the news, we were thrilled.

“The exposure and support is going to be beneficial to our charity and I’d like to thank every customer who voted.”
