MP impressed after visit to landfill company
8:00am Thursday 15th August 2013 in News
NORTH Wiltshire MP James Gray paid a visit to a landfill site in Royal Wootton Bassett to find out more about its sustainability aims.
The Tory MP visited Crapper and Sons’ landfill site, which has produced compost for projects all over the country such as the London 2012 Olympics site.
Mr Gray said: “We all need landfill sites for the tons of waste which we produce, and dealing with it in the way that Crapper and Sons do is impressive.
“Among other things, they produce a vast quantity of compost which has been used all over Britain.
“They are presently moving into energy for waste operation, and within the next year or two would hope to produce enough electricity to power all the needs of the town of Royal Wootton Bassett.
“No one likes waste nor landfill, but I was so impressed by the operation that I have promised to do whatever I can to help Crapper and Sons in their sometimes difficult business.”
