Top jocks will DJ for Brunel
THE Brunel Rooms is set for two weekends of dance anthems with the arrival of big name DJs Pete Tong and Danny Howard.
The Radio One DJs are the latest in a list of big names in the world of dance music to take to the decks at the newly opened club after Radio One DJ Charlie Sloth was announced as a resident DJ for the next year.
Pete Tong will be appearing at the club this Saturday followed by Danny Howard on Saturday, September 7.
The iconic club has proved hugely popular since re-opening and club director Helene Simpkins said that she expects more big names to head to Swindon as a result.
She said: “All the staff were talking about Charlie Sloth for days and we just loved the feel everybody had. It was such a positive night.
“He has just taken over from Tim Westwood on BBC Radio One and is an up and coming DJ which is exactly what we wanted.
“I believed that the club could be great but I didn’t fully realise how well it would go.
“I think that getting rid of the VIP area was a big thing because we wanted to create an environment that would include everybody and make it a venue for all walks of life.
“We also have a fabulous event’s organiser who comes up with the acts like Pete Tong and we just get really excited.
“When it comes to Danny Howard I booked him after his agent came to us.
“We feel he has the right type of feel for what we are trying to do and we are looking forward to it.
“We have the capacity for a lot of people in one place which is a big plus as we can spend a bit more on the big acts.
“We just hope that people will support what we are doing.”
The Brunel Rooms is not the only club in town attracting the big names though, with Duncan and Simon from boy band Blue at appearing Bushwackers tonight from 9pm.
