Man jailed after Twitter child images probe

A PAEDOPHILE has been recalled to prison after a national newspaper handed over evidence of indecent images he had shared on social media.
Wiltshire Police confirmed yesterday that the 36-year-old man, who has not been named, was recalled to prison for being in breach of the conditions of his licence of a prison sentence he had already received.
The Sunday Mirror ran details that the man, a Network Rail contractor, was jailed for possessing indecent images last year.
It said he was was among a number of Twitter users sharing explicit content featuring children.
Police took the man in for questioning but gave him technical bail while they carry out further enquiries.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “On August 15, 2013, Wiltshire Police were presented with evidence by the Sunday Mirror following an online investigation by the newspaper.
“As a result of this investigation by the Sunday Mirror, officers attended a residential address in Swindon and arrested a 36-year-old-man on suspicion of possessing indecent images.
“He was taken to Gablecross Police Station where he was found to be in breach of his licence conditions and has been re-called to prison. He was bailed in relation to the arrest pending further enquiries but this is a technical bail due to his return to prison.”
