Loyal Swindon Town fans to get first pick of Chelsea cup tie tickets thanks to new points scheme
SWINDON Town have released more details of how to get in line for tickets to the much-anticipated cup clash against Chelsea, as football fever gripped the town.
Fans have been so eager to get their hands on tickets to the Capital One Cup tie against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side on Tuesday, September 24 that many have bought season tickets since the draw was announced to ensure they will be front of the queue.
The club decided to revamp its ticketing and retail systems during the close season, in a bid to give their loyal supporters the opportunity to purchase tickets for the matches with the highest demand before going on general sale.
Now by purchasing tickets online, by phone or through the Swindon club store fans will be rewarded with loyalty points.
Anyone buying tickets on the day of a match at the match day windows will not receive loyalty points.
Ticket details for the Capital One fixture versus Chelsea along with prices will be released on Monday, September 2 and there will be three sale periods.
The first will be for season ticket holders.
The second phase of sales will be broken down into levels depending on loyalty points, including Junior Reds first and then My World Membership second.
Tickets will then go on general sale to the public.
Mark Isaacs, the operations manager at the Robins, said: “The club wants all supporters who regularly attend the County Ground to take full advantage of these three easy ways of purchasing.
“The sales process ensures that all supporters who have attended matches this season already are rewarded.
“It is for those who turn up week in and week out.
“We have already had people buying season tickets to be able to get tickets for the Chelsea game, and we want to make it clear you can still get season tickets at this stage of the season.
“Prices have yet to be agreed with Chelsea but we will know more on Monday.
“There has not been a buzz about a game in many years - we’ve had Villa and Wigan, but I don’t think they were equivalent to this.”
