Town hope big ticket release is hassle-free
SWINDON Town are hoping for no hitches today as tickets for their big cup clash with Chelsea go on sale.
Hundreds of season ticket holders will be on the phone and online from 9am this morning to get their hands on tickets to the Capital One Cup tie on Tuesday, September 24. The club though have tried their best to ensure that all loyal fans will get a ticket with the way they have structured the release of tickets.
Tickets are priced at £25 for adults, concessions £19, 16-18s £17 and juniors aged 15 and under £12 and there will be three sale periods.
The first will be for season ticket holders with tickets available by phone or online until Thursday, September 12, or in person from 9am on Monday, September 9 until Thursday, September 12 with only one ticket per season ticket holder.
The second will be broken down into levels depending on loyalty points, including Junior Reds first and then My World Membership second.
The first level of phase two will see tickets released at 9am on September 13, with one ticket for people with 50 loyalty points and Junior Red Members. The second level is one ticket for people with 30 loyalty points & My World Membership from 9am on September 16 and the third level, those with 10 loyalty points and My World Membership, will be available from 9am on September 19.
Tickets will then go on general sale from 9am on September 21.
Fans have been so eager to get their hands on tickets to the match against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea, which is also live on Sky Sports, that many have bought season tickets since the draw was made.
Mark Isaacs, the operations manager at the Robins, said: “The club decided to review our ticketing system during the close season to give our loyal supporters priority, so that when we get the big games we put the right people in the right place to get a ticket.
“Before we have had problems where people have been queuing up for hours and that is really where we don’t want to be.
“The sales process ensures that all supporters who have attended matches this season already are rewarded.
“I am hoping that there will be no issues today, especially with Ticketmaster being such a big organisation I think they are well prepared for the 9am start.
“We have tried to make the period where people can get tickets as long as possible though to prevent a mad rush at the start.
“There is a really positive feel around the place and I think everybody is excited about the fixture.
“We have all been working really hard to satisfy every supporter.”
Tickets will be on sale today from 9am to season ticket holders via the ticket line number 0871 876 1993 or online at www.stfcmyworld.com (click on tickets).
