Teenager kept in jail over armed robbery

A SEVENTEEN-year-old male from Swindon has been remanded into custody after being charged with a robbery in the north of the town last month.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in connection with an incident on August 12, which occurred near the bridge over Thamesdown Drive, between Haydon End and Redhouse.During the incident, the victim was allegedly threatened with what appeared to be a firearm.
He has now been charged with nine offences in all, including robbery, possession of an imitation firearm with the intent to cause fear of violence, common assault, possession of class B drugs and of handling stolen goods.
He has also been charged with another count of robbery following an incident in Ramleaze, West Swindon.
He will appear before Swindon Youth Court tomorrow.
