OAP guilty of child sex
7:40am Tuesday 17th September 2013 in News
A PENSIONER who sexually abused four children more than 20 years ago has been warned to expect a jail term.
Peter Compton was found guilty of seven counts of indecent assault and one of indecency with a child following a trial at Swindon Crown Court.
The 67-year-old, of Booth House, Spring Gardens, faced 14 charges including rape and threats to kill, all of which he denied.
He was found guilty of the eight charges which took place in the 1970s and 1990s and cleared of the others.
Judge Euan Ambrose has adjourned the case to Friday October 3 and released him on bail until then.
But he warned him: “You have been convicted of a number of offences and as I am sure you would have been advised the prospect of a prison sentence awaits so you should arrange your affairs accordingly.”
