WEDDING bells are approaching for the lucky couple who won the Adver’s £10,000 prize competition as they have now set a date and bride to be Leanne Warner has chosen the perfect dress.

Leanne, 25, was trying on dresses at Hazlewood Bridal Boutique in Chippenham on Saturday, but in reality had already made up her mind.

“I found out they were stocking the dress that I wanted, so we ordered it and went in for it straight away,” Leanne said.

“I am still buzzing. I knew what I wanted the moment I saw it. It is the style I wanted, with a lacy finish and it is just perfect. It has got a bit of everything.”

But Leanne and fiancé Daniel Harper, 33, will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets to get the dress after spending £4,000 to ensure they got the jackpot prize.

“The dress costs £1,300, so it is going to cost us a little bit extra,” Leanne , of Pasteur Drive, added. “We had £1,000 from the prize fund to buy the wedding dress, so we are adding an extra £300 to make sure I got this dress.

“I did not really look at the dresses too much, but when I found this dress I knew that was the one I wanted.

“The owner, Amanda, kept asking me if I wanted to try on any of the other dresses, but it was no use, I had made up my mind by that stage.”

The venue is now being set as Leanne wants to have the ceremony close to where her uncle married.

“We have now set our wedding date for August 9 next year,” she said. “We are looking now to book a church, so we are going to go to All Saints Church in Lydiard Millicent tomorrow.

“We chose that church after I found out my uncle got married in that area, and he passed away a few years ago so it would be wonderful if we could get married in the same place.”

Leanne makes bridal wear in her spare time, and is looking to add an extra personal touch to the proceedings.

She said: “Once the church is booked everything can start being prepared. My family are helping out a lot and I am doing a lot of the work. My aunt is getting the flowers for us, and I am making everything for the day itself.

“I am making the invitations and centre pieces, along with my hairpiece and hair comb. I am making the jewellery for all my bridesmaids.

“I make bridal stuff here at home in my spare time, so it wasn’t too much of an ask. It is just something I do on the side along with looking after my two boys.

“Daniel has had quite a bit of input into everything, but he knows once I make a decision that it is final.

“I keep saying to people it has still not sunk in, but when I tried the dress on it really hit home that this is happening now. I will probably get a bit emotional on the day, but I’ll have some tissues in the bouquet just in case.”
