6:40pm Monday 14th October 2013 in News
A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car and was taken to hospital with serious spinal injuries after a three-vehicle crash yesterday morning.
A woman in her 30s was left trapped and had to be cut free by firefighters, while the van driver suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Great Western Hospital. The road was closed until 9.50am as police arranged recovery of the vehicles and Swindon Council attended to repair the road.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at 7.20am to the Elcombe turning of the A4361 to reports of a three-car collision. One woman was trapped in her vehicle with spinal injuries and a man suffered minor injuries.”
A South West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “There were two patients – a lady in her late 30s with severe injuries and a man who described having chest pains.”
Anyone with any information should call Wiltshire Police on 101.
