STUDENTS from Stagecoach Swindon are looking forward to their performance of the musical Cats tomorrow.

Tickets for both performances are sold out, which means that more than 600 people will get to enjoy the production.

Stagecoach Theatre Arts worked with The Really Useful Group to produce the specially abridged version suitable for schools.

Cats, by Andrew Lloyd Webber, is based on Old Possums Book of Practical Cats by TS Eliot.

A total of 170 children aged from four to 18 will appear in the show, which will be performed twice with 85 children in each show, at St Josephs College.

School principal Sheryll Fox said: “It’s been an exciting project for us and a challenge as we keep the rehearsals within class times. I remember seeing Cats as a child and so do many of our parents, so it’s wonderful now to share this inspiring show with all the children at the school.”

Stagecoach Swindon will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2014. The school, which was launched by Sheryll Fox, has grown from strength to strength over the years starting with just 44 students.
