A CHEQUE for £500 has been handed over to the president of the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement.
The money was presented by director general Peter Watkins for the Defence Academy at Shrivenham Station, assisted by the Shrivenham Station Commander, Wing Commander Simon Twose. The money was raised by the annual music and fireworks event held in July this year, which organisers deemed a huge success.
Richard Crowley, president of CALM, accepted the money on behalf of the charity. CALM is a registered charity, run by parents who’ve all experienced what it’s like to have a child diagnosed with cancer. It helps families that have a child receiving treatment at the Great Western Hospital. For more information visit http://calmcharity.org/.
