A PAMPER session and shopping spree was a Christmas Wish come true for three special sisters who are not used to being the centre of attention.

Chantelle, Eboney-Rose and Kasie-Louise Stacey, of Walcot, were treated to a new outfit, a hair and beauty makeover, and a photoshoot as part of our Christmas Wish campaign.

Earlier this month, we asked you to tell us about people who truly deserved a treat over the festive period.

The girls were nominated by their parents, Hayley and Mark Stacey, who wanted the girls to feel like princesses for the day because their brother, Rhys, has a rare illness which requires a lot of their time and attention.

The girls’ mum, Hayley, 29, a mother-of-five, said: “They have put up with not being the centre of attention for the last seven years due to their brother being born with a rare illness.

“We have had to give him a lot of care and attention and feel we have left the girls out a lot.

“Not once have they ever complained, and they help us with their brother, even if it means giving up stuff they want to do.”

The girls’ seven-year-old brother, Rhys, was born with Russell-Silver Syndrome, a disorder that involves poor growth and feeding problems. It affects one in 75,000 people.

He spent most of his first three years in and out of hospital. His condition was so serious that he nearly died.

As part of the Christmas Wish, Next invited the girls to chose outfits in their Greenbridge store, before they headed to The JJs Hair Group in Havelock Street for a makeover.

Chantelle, 13, who attends Churchfields Academy, said: “I loved getting my hair and make-up done. I’ve never looked this pretty before. The day has made me feel really special/ I will always remember it.”

Her sister, Eboney-Rose, 11, who also attends Churchfields, said: “I liked choosing the clothes and getting my hair done. Usually the attention is on Rhys so it is nice to be pampered and made to feel special. I don’t normally wear dresses, I’m usually a bit of a tomboy.”

Mountford Manor Primary School pupil Kasie-Louise, nine, said: “ I was really excited when I found out we had been granted a Christmas Wish.

“It was really exciting going shopping. I normally wear quite girlie things and love shopping. I really like the curls in my hair as well. I feel like a princess.”

Their dad, Mark, 37, said: “We thought it would be nice for them to have something just for them to make a change.

“We didn’t say anything until we knew for sure that the wish was being granted. Since we got the confirmation they have been counting the days and seconds.

“They really help their brother. It has been lovely to sit here watching them actually getting pampered. We just want them to know that we haven’t forgotten about them and we do really care about them.”

JJs director, Jane Jennings, junior stylist Sheyan Howells, junior stylist Lucy Gilbert and make-up artist Gayle Harper did the makeover on the girls.

Jane said: “It’s lovely to see a smile on their faces. Every girl loves having their hair and make-up done and it is great that we could be a part of it.”
