FOR the second year running Swindon will benefit from extra Thamesdown bus services over the Christmas period, with several routes operating on Boxing Day.
Introduced last year, services had not previously run on Boxing Day.
But thanks to a positive response from passengers last year a Sunday timetable will run on Services 1, 2, 13, 14, 17 and 22. Additionally, a special timetable will be in operation on Service 16, which serves the Great Western Hospital.
On Christmas Eve normal Tuesday services will operate, but all services will end at about 8pm. There will be no service on Christmas Day.
Normal service will resume from Friday, December 27 until Monday, December 30. On New Year’s Eve a normal Tuesday service will operate until 8pm and there will be no services running on New Year’s Day.
The Thamesdown Travel Shop will also be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Sunday, December 29 and New Year’s Day. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve the Travel Shop will close at 2pm.
