A TOWN centre hotel has been recognised for its outstanding performance and contribution to the local community.

Holiday Inn Express has received the InterContinental Hotels Group Developing People gong for Europe at the annual Hotel Stars Awards.

The accolade recognises remarkable employers, committed to nurturing talent and staff to grow and develop personally and professionally.

Constantin Singureanu, the general manager of Holiday Inn Express in Swindon town centre, visited Winchester to accept the award at a ceremony.

“This award recognises all the hard work and team effort we’ve put in this year,” he said.

“We’re constantly striving to go the extra mile so guests can expect a consistently top notch experience when visiting our hotel and we’ll continue to work together to keep delivering the same experience each year.”

Stephen McCall, the chief operating officer UK and Ireland and head of Europe operations performance and support, said: "We are fully committed to supporting and developing our people.

“Our hotels are only as good as the people working in them.

"We aim to provide the right environment, support and inspiration they need to fulfil their capability and these awards are a reflection of the fantastic talent we have in our hotels.”
